UPCOMING 2008 EVENTS-More Details to Follow:

- Christmas Eve Luminaria Sale, December, 2008Our beautiful Christmas Eve tradition really makes our community both bright and beautiful.  Purchase everything you will need to display your own luminaria along your sidewalks and driveways in one, inexpensive kit.  Reservations must be received by December 14th.  Contact Sid Frede for more information.

- CVNA Women's Group. The CVNA Women's Group has recently formed and met several times.  It includes women of all ages and walks of life.  We are gathering to share ideas, to meet our neighbors and to spend time connecting with other women.  We have plans to start organizing smaller groups of interests such as:  playgroups, cooking/recipe sharing, scrapbooking, walking and bunco to name a few.  We will be meeting at Stroud Park the first Sunday afternoon of each month starting March 2nd at 1:30.  Other possible functions to be determined.  Please contact Jamie Ostdiek for more information.

- G.A.I.N. Night, Saturday, 4p-7p, October 18, 2008.  The Camelot Village neighborhood held our 2nd Annual G.A.I.N. (Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods) event on Saturday, October 15th.  It was another great success!  We had a super turnout and a total of 19 families signed in.

Early in the evening we had a visit from Tempe Councilman Mark Mitchell.  McGruff the Crime Dog paid a special visit later in the evening much to the delight of the small children.  Sid Frede manned the brochure table that included news and general neighborhood information from the City of Tempe .

A big Camelot Village Thank You to everyone who helped make this event a success:  Meg and John Webster for organizing, taking RSVPs and gathering the burgers, hot dogs, buns, etc.  Jim and Joanne Sippel for providing the grills and cooking the burgers/dogs and generally keeping the food table well-stocked; the flyer distribution team of Wendy Darling, Sid Frede, Kim Newlin, Debi and Larry Nielson, Jamie Ostdiek, Carla Smith and Meg Webster.  And thanks to all of the Camelot Village neighbors for coming out and providing wonderful side dishes.

We were glad that several members from the Living Faith Anglican Church were able to join us.  They even brought extra tables and a special Lego table that all the children really enjoyed.
