UPCOMING 2010 EVENTS-More Details to Follow: - Halloween Party at the Park & G.A.I.N. Night, Saturday, October 23, 2010, 4p-7p- Kids get ready for the big night of trick or treating by kicking off the holiday with a party in the park. Wear your Halloween costume and come for lots of fun and goodies. Jump in the age appropriate bouncy, carve your own family pumpkin, hit the piñata and share a sno-cone! It's a fun and festive event. Then we will transition to our annual G.A.I.N. Night potluck (bring a dish to share and your own drinks!). The potluck will begin at 6p. The Tempe Police Department extends a special invitation for each block watch captain, neighborhood association, homeowners association, apartment and mobile home community to join our partnership on a Saturday evening in October to help fight crime. G.A.I.N.—Getting Arizona Involved in Neighborhoods, is designed to heighten crime prevention awareness in your neighborhood. Saturday, October 24th, 4p-7p. This is a great opportunity to get together with your neighbors at an event in our community. Our annual Camelot event allows the neighbors to get a chance to get to know each other better. When neighbors know and care about each other, they feel more comfortable reporting crime and suspicious activity to the Tempe Police Department. Did you know that the best crime prevention device is knowing your neighbor? Look here for updates later in the year. - Christmas Eve Luminaria. This annual holiday event is a beautiful tradition in our community. Luminaries, or, small lunch-type bags with sand holding a tea-light candle, are sold as a fund raiser for our neighborhood events. Order are taken in December and complete luminaria kits are then picked up from Stroud Park, 12/18, 10a-12n, the Saturday before Christmas Eve. Stay tuned for more info! -2011 4th of July Parade & Picnic, Join your Camelot neighbors as we celebrate our Nation's birthday! This signature event is the highlight of the summer. Activities include a street parade lead by the Tempe Police, followed by bikes, quads, scooters and cars with the Tempe Fire Department bringing up the rear. The parade begins at 9am sharp at Living Faith Anglican Church and ends up at Stroud Park with a good old-fashioned picnic in the park Feel free to bring a side dish or dessert to share!
